OK, so it's been a LONG time since I've made liquid soap. The last time I made it I think I just did a 0 or 1% lye discount and didn't buffer/neutralize it and I didn't have any issues. it was nice and clear and worked great.
I'm almost out of it and so I'm gonna make some more. Here is my debate:

We're possibly moving from Phoenix to Seattle very shortly and I have some avocado oil that I'm not gonna use in my other stuff because it clogs my pores in lotion. I have 14.36 oz and I figured I'd use it up in some liquid soap, but from everything I look at it seems like it might throw off my superfat/discount. I was also going to use olive oil and coconut oil as well, but I also have some castor oil, grapeseed and sunflower oil if someone thinks it might be a good idea.
I originally was gonna do 20% avocado, 60% olive and 20% coconut but I think this would probably leave me with some seriously cloudy soap, but then again maybe soap calc would have that whole thing covered.
I have a medium size crock pot that I usually use and if I recall correctly, a 2 lb. soap recipe is pretty much my max that will ultimately fit in the crock pot. (even then I usually need to move it to a bigger pot on the stovetop come dilution).

Thoughts?

You would have cloudy soap because avocado has a high amount of unsaponifiables. But if you don't really care about it being clear...then I say go for it!

That's what I was thinking. I started out doing 40% avocado and 60% olive and was stick blending FOREVER and seeming to get nowhere (it reminded me of my very first batch of soap- 100% olive oil!)... I finally said "screw this!" and made up a mini-batch of 100% coconut oil and poured it in with the rest and it seemed to trace immediately.
It's probably gonna be one jacked up batch of soap, but hey... you never know until you try!!!!

OK, so it's been nearly a week since I made the soap and it's still in it's 2nd home, my big stainless steel pot. As predicted, it's totally cloudy. I'm thinking of making a lye solution and adding it a bit at a time until it clears, but do you think I should reheat it, or just add it cold... AND how long should I wait after adding some lye until it should become clear?
