Anise oil or oil infusion?

I have 2 questions about scenting HP soap with anise. First, is it a scent that will stick all by itself? And secondly, am I better off to use anise EO, or is crushing the entire star anise and making an oil infusion better/equally good? Does any one have experience with this?

You are better off using the EO. Herbs infused in oil won't scent soap. Anise sticks pretty well but I recently switched to black licorice FO, it does stick better.
