I would like to try a batch of hot process soap and have a few questions, if anyone could help I would love to learn from your experiences.

Do colors stay truer than in cp?

Is is true that you can use less fragrance?

Can the soap be used right out of the mold or does it have a cure time?

How does it compare with cp?

Can I make Castille (100% OO) using the hp method?

I have been so busy the last couple of months that I haven't kept up with this forum and I'm looking forward to going through all of the past posts.

Thanks Everyone,

I'll answer what I can.

I can't say for colour but I've never had even an herb colour morph in hp, but I've never done cp.

I used about have the scent in hp than is generally called for in cp.

Yes, it can be used right out of the mold but it hardens more, and lasts longer if you let it cure for a while. I've heard of everywhere from a few days to 6 weeks.

Never done cp, so I can't say.

I've made Castille a few times, works beautifully.

i love hp and cp.
yes, you use 1/2 of the fo in hp.
colors- not as vibrant, but ive done some nice pink, green, blue, tan with black lines, etc.
Ive never done a 100% oo, i ve used 15oz in 30 oz batch, turned out well.
I usually still cure hp, not as long though, it dose shrink a bit. I use it after 1-2wks, but is safe right away.
Did i answer everything? you can look at some of my past hp pics, i have lots of recipes if you want? pm me anytime, i love helping people.
