Dear folks,
Good evening.
Recently I have decided to start making candels. Can anyone help to start in this field, by mention the requierd materials, and the procedure.
Best regards
Today I decided to try my new soap, I noticed that after using it I can smell the lye on the soap bar not on my hand after using it, is it ok. or this is a sign that my soap should have more curing time.
And about the effect of soap on my hand I can't determine it exactly from first use.
thanks
As Candybee said, today and after 11 days I tested my soap as you mentioned above, and I didn't feel any zap.
Hence, why we should let our soup for longer period? and how can we know that the soap is ready for use?
Dear freinds,
On 1st of May 2013, I made my first experiment in soap making, (60% olive oil, 35% coconut oil, and 5% castor oil), the over fatting percent is 7%.
Today and after 10 days, how can I know if everything is ok with my soap or not.
Thanks
Dear friends
Can you please tell me volume and the concentration of the lye solution I need to make soap using 500 gm of oils ( olive oil, castor oil, and coconut oil)
Thank you
Also I want to ask about the water-lye concentration and amount should be used for 500 gm of oils ( 175 gm coconut oil, 25 gm castor oil, and 300 gm olive oil. Also will this give a good soap?.
Also I wonder if the hot process will shortage the cure time of 100% olive Oils soap
Thanks
I read through internet that the cure time for 100% olive oil is about 2 weeks, but they make the soap using hot process method. So may be they using the hot process instead the cold process to shortage the curing time ?
thanks
Thanks for your replies.
And also I want to ask you about your opinion in using only olive oil as many people mentioned that the soap they make is 100% olive oil. In this case what is the advantages and disadvantages of this.
Thanks
Dear friends,
I intend to make soap using cold process with the following formula:
33% Castor Oil
33% Olive Oil
33% Hydrogenated Palm Kernel Oil
and intend to let the super fat percentage to be 5%.
depending on your practical experience would this formula gives good result
Thanks
Dear friends,
I want to ask if it is a fact, that the natural soap is better than the commercial chemical soap.
If yes, is there studies that we can read it about this issue.
Some people said that there is no difference, some said that chemical is better in clean purpose, some said that many...
Thanks DeeAnna for your reply, and in this case would it be safer to use HP than CP, I mean for the soap users or customers, also how can we be sure that the soap is safe for our skin and the lye used will not harm our skin during use it.
And is there simple tests using instruments to b sure...
thanks for your replies, and I want to ask if the process ( CP or HP ) used to make the soap effects on period of using ( the times we use the soap before we have to replace the soap bar ), as well as the smoothness of the soap bar.
Thank you
Dear friends,
I have read many articles about cold process and hot process soap making, and both of them has cure time lasts for weeks.
