    More soaps (constructive criticism appreciated)

One alternative is to just blur your background and keep the soaps in sharp focus. You'd still get the added interest of the vignette, but keep the viewer's focus on the soap.

    Best site for supplies?

I'm four hours from Bellingham, and the best shipping I've found is from Brambleberry and MMS (both run about the same with MMS a smidge more). I have thoroughly checked out suppliers by state, but avoided the vendors in Eastern WA. If you're over on that side, maybe those will be good for you.

    How to get this effect?

Yep, definitely ash on the swirled portion, glitter on the straight mauve piping.

Help! Can't find Blue Pumice anywhere!

Not the most cost effective solution, but in a pinch you can find them in the spice aisle of your local grocery store. I've bought them at both Wal-Mart & Safeway in 1/2 oz. quantities.

    ITP swirling soaps question

I do just 1 clockwise stir close to the outside of my bucket and this is usually enough. Are you stirring more than that? Also, try to pour from just 1 end of your log mold or 1 corner of your slab. HTH

    Salt Bars

Very nice! I have to say, you're a braver soul than I to do them in a log... well done!

    Experimenting week ... new pics!

I haven't experimented with this, but I would think it would depend on the alcohol % in it... at a certain %, alcohol will not freeze (whiskey, bourbon, etc).

Recent Salt Soaps (PIC HEAVY) - Fixed

I use same method, just on a smaller scale ^^ thin trace helps with this, as you don't have much room to move things around :) As far as the air gaps go, I had quite a bit of that with the faster moving FOs too =( still works, as you said, just not photo-worthy lol

    Tiki Beach FO?

Can't help you there, but you could always try blending it yourself out of various FOs/EOs... BB's Coconut Cybilla is supposed to be a true toasted coconut scent + Vanilla Musk from NG (or Vaniglia del Madagascar from TSW, which is supposed to combine vanilla with musk and orchid) + any of the...

    First spoon swirl & more

Nice work! I also love that shade of the cool blue water... that shade of blue with the white is just so tranquil.

    A CreamSoap Attempt

Yes, it's called rotting. During this time, it will relax quite a bit, so adding too much liquid the day after might make the end product too thin. It can be whipped up again during and after the rot though, so it should be okay as long as too much liquid wasn't incorporated too early.

    Sell me on Day Star!

I wasn't pleased with having to buy empty amber glass to transfer my 16 oz. purchases to, but otherwise I was happy with the purchase. Out of 14 FOs, I liked 13. About half of those either A or D or both, but that's not a bad ratio, considering. Her customer service was good, for the most part...

Thank you all so much for the encouragement :D The comments on the pictures are nice as well... tells me I'm getting better (have had such a struggle with this), and that the lovely camera my daughter gifted me with at Yule is making up for my lack!

Recent Salt Soaps (PIC HEAVY) - Fixed

@Pamela The credit for my recipe goes to the wonderful generosity of Irish Lass, our newest moderator :D The method she's shared with us is: 100% Coconut Oil 100% Coconut Milk (I use 50% water, 50% Coconut Cream) 13% Superfat 25% Salt On all of these batches I used 2.5:1 Water:Lye...

Recent Salt Soaps (PIC HEAVY) - Fixed

@green soap I actually didn't make these in a log. I used the BB silicone square multicavity mold... way too scared to try a log with salt bars lol Some set up almost immediately, like the Eucalyptus Spearmint and Juicy Baby I would have to cut those within like 10 mins of pouring in a log...

Recent Salt Soaps (PIC HEAVY) - Fixed

Have been loving my salt soaps made with Irish Lass' method/formula, and needed to test some Daystar FOs for A & D, so took the opportunity during a recent much needed vacation. Bird of Paradise wasn't SB'd enough, so separated on me - had to toss the whole...
