I soap at 110-130 F for both soap and lye solution. I like for both to be around 110, but if they lye was made a few hours ahead of time....it will be 85-90 degrees. When that happens, I make sure the oils are hotter....closer to the 130 degree mark. it seems to work well.....and I have not...

I had a thought a few weeks ago.....and I don’t think it is an original thought 😂. So, I thought I would ask the group. Master batch: the idea of pre-mixing my CO, OO, Palm Kernel, castor, Shea, and coco butter together......melt the all together, and then put this “ master mixture” in buckets...

I would approach it a little differently. When she says “ we need to talk”, you should say, “yes, let’s set up a time to discuss this”. And then, set up 30 minutes to have the conversation with her about FO vs EO. once you sit down with her to discuss EO vs FO, quickly shift the conversation...

Update. i am half way through my 25 lb of leb that I ordered, and the scent is great in my soap. I will only be buying this scent from them directly going forward. No more BA for me!!!

Update: tried several different clays, and no help on scent retention. Tried oatmeal, as well as cornstarch.....still no help on scent retention. I made 12 different batches ( 7 bars per batch) of one of my soaps that sells the most.....and nothing I tried made and difference in soap retention...
