    Shipping during summer months

Thanks! I'll have to keep them in mind if it becomes a problem. :)

    Shipping during summer months

Hey everyone....I saw this on another site today and am curious: Has anyone had trouble shipping body butters to customers during the hot summer months? If so, can you share any tips for how to avoid problems with the product melting, etc. before it arrives? I guess I hadn't thought of this...

Shea Butter (who has the best deal)?

Wholesale Supplies Plus I haven't tried Soaper's Choice, but I did try several other suppliers before settling on Wholesale Supplies Plus. Their shea butter was the only one I found that was smooth and not "gritty" like some shea butters can be. I've been VERY happy with their shea butter. :D

    Wax for soy tarts?

Wax tarts I've just recently ventured into candle & tart making, so I'm a 'newbie' to this area too. However, I've been using soy wax from Wholesale Soap Supplies Plus because that is where I buy supplies for my bath & body products. I really like their soy wax....It's very easy to use, seems...

Great Ebook for newbie candle makers

THANKS! Thanks so much for this info! I currently make B&B products but I want to add candles to my line as well. I've been wondering where would be a good place to start....Looks like this book would be a good one to start with. Thanks again for info! :)

    WSP bases

This is probably late since your original post was in April....BUT, I wanted to let you know that I have used several of WSP's bases. I regularly use their creamy goats milk base and the clear suspension soap base. I love both of them and my customers do too. I'm not sure how much lather...

How to mix oxide powders in M&P

Great Idea! I normally mix with vegetable glycerin too, but I LOVE the idea of making my own color blocks using M&P base. What a great idea! I'm going to try this. :D

    completely clear facial masks

Or maybe aloe vera gel? I do a mask for myself that is a mixture of honey and aloe vera gel and it's clear. I couldn't SELL one like this because of preservative issues with the honey, but maybe some of the ones on the market have aloe vera gel in them....or gelatin (like Krissy mentioned). ??

    Whipped Body/Shea Butter

Jezzy....that's what happend with mine. I've never been able to get the "gritty" feeling out of shea butter unless I melt it down. However, I like the consistency a lot better when I don't melt it down and just blend it with a mixer....I'm trying to find a happy medium between the two...

    Whipped Body/Shea Butter

WONDERFUL! I made some of this last night and it is WONDERFUL! I used a hand mixer for about 10 minutes and then poured it into containers. I do feel little bit of "grit" from the shea butter, but not enough to be a bother. I put it on when I got out of the shower this morning and my skin...

    sugar scrubs

Looks great! I've had some trouble making solid sugar scrubs with m&p too....Glad I saw your post! I think I may try this too.

    Whipped Body/Shea Butter

I want to try this tonight! Just one question, since you don't melt the shea butter before, does it end up feeling 'gritty'. I don't mind the grit because shea always makes for a wonderful, decadent moisturizer.....but some customers prefer a lotion without that grit. Just wondering how it...

What are your home treatments just for you?

Face mask I recently tried a super simple face mask recipe that I am in LOVE with.....I've been doing it once a week this winter: Just add 1 tbsp honey with 1 tbsp aloe vera gel and put onto your clean face. Leave for 15-20 minutes and rinse off. It leaves my skin super soft! I also use my...

    Who are your favorite suppliers?

I like Brambleberry but it seems to take much longer for me to get orders from them than it does from others (Maybe because we're on opposite sides of the US?). The quality of products is good if you can wait, though. Right now, my "go to" suppliers are Elements Bath & Body and Wholesale...

    Favorite Floral Scent????

One more combo I just recently made some bath truffles with a combo of sweet rose & cinnamon cassia oil. It turned out great because it's a little "spicy" and a little "sweet/floral". It's been a good seller for Valentine's Day.

    Favorite Floral Scent????

Jasmine & strawberry Wow.....I hadn't thought of this combo but it sounds great! May have to try some of that this weekend. :)

    Rose

Rose FO This question has been on here for awhile, but thought I would respond anyway in case anyone else ever wonders about it: I just bought some Rose F/O from WSP that is INCREDIBLE! It's probably the best one I've ever smelled and it is holding great in all of my products. Just FYI in case...

Lip balm and bath bomb help

Lip Balms You can find some great recipes online....."From Nature With Love" has some good recipes for all kinds of products: http://www.fromnaturewithlove.com/recip ... ategory=19 In lip balms, I like to use mostly castor oil in the "liquid oils" portion because it makes them like a balm &...

    Infamous Lotion Bars

Good advice carebear! As for lip balms, here is a suggestion for anyone who likes a cross between a balm & a gloss (like ME! :D )....I use mostly castor oil for the liquid oil portion in my balms since it helps give a super soft & glossy feel. ~Tonya~

    Infamous Lotion Bars

Suggestion for Lotion Bars I love working with shea butter in my body butters & lotions, but don't think I've ever used it in lotion bars since it's a little softer. If you're looking for a harder bar, maybe you could eliminate the shea and just use all cocoa butter....or a combo of cocoa and...
