Hey everyone....I saw this on another site today and am curious: Has anyone had trouble shipping body butters to customers during the hot summer months? If so, can you share any tips for how to avoid problems with the product melting, etc. before it arrives? I guess I hadn't thought of this...

Wholesale Supplies Plus I haven't tried Soaper's Choice, but I did try several other suppliers before settling on Wholesale Supplies Plus. Their shea butter was the only one I found that was smooth and not "gritty" like some shea butters can be. I've been VERY happy with their shea butter. :D

This is probably late since your original post was in April....BUT, I wanted to let you know that I have used several of WSP's bases. I regularly use their creamy goats milk base and the clear suspension soap base. I love both of them and my customers do too. I'm not sure how much lather...

Great Idea! I normally mix with vegetable glycerin too, but I LOVE the idea of making my own color blocks using M&P base. What a great idea! I'm going to try this. :D

Or maybe aloe vera gel? I do a mask for myself that is a mixture of honey and aloe vera gel and it's clear. I couldn't SELL one like this because of preservative issues with the honey, but maybe some of the ones on the market have aloe vera gel in them....or gelatin (like Krissy mentioned). ??

Jezzy....that's what happend with mine. I've never been able to get the "gritty" feeling out of shea butter unless I melt it down. However, I like the consistency a lot better when I don't melt it down and just blend it with a mixer....I'm trying to find a happy medium between the two...

WONDERFUL! I made some of this last night and it is WONDERFUL! I used a hand mixer for about 10 minutes and then poured it into containers. I do feel little bit of "grit" from the shea butter, but not enough to be a bother. I put it on when I got out of the shower this morning and my skin...

I like Brambleberry but it seems to take much longer for me to get orders from them than it does from others (Maybe because we're on opposite sides of the US?). The quality of products is good if you can wait, though. Right now, my "go to" suppliers are Elements Bath & Body and Wholesale...

One more combo I just recently made some bath truffles with a combo of sweet rose & cinnamon cassia oil. It turned out great because it's a little "spicy" and a little "sweet/floral". It's been a good seller for Valentine's Day.

Good advice carebear! As for lip balms, here is a suggestion for anyone who likes a cross between a balm & a gloss (like ME! :D )....I use mostly castor oil for the liquid oil portion in my balms since it helps give a super soft & glossy feel. ~Tonya~

Suggestion for Lotion Bars I love working with shea butter in my body butters & lotions, but don't think I've ever used it in lotion bars since it's a little softer. If you're looking for a harder bar, maybe you could eliminate the shea and just use all cocoa butter....or a combo of cocoa and...
