How is canola oil for CP use?

canola I've been usiing canola from almost the beginning of my soaping, whih is over 6 years. I have never gotten DOS and I use canola in every batch at 20%., of my basic batch, that is. I also do a 60 hard oils/40 soft oils blend and I like it. It seems to me that canola adds a silky feel...

am i doing this right? (added pics) 1 year later...

Peeking I'm a peeker and sometimes, especially very recently, it saved a batch from overheating to the point of seperation. A small one pound batch with buttermilk and an FO that I think contributed, PLUS insulated it AND it was in a quart milk carton, which of course is tall and skinny and...

    My 1st batch survived! (pics)

Great job :D Yep, I agree about the marbled look, very nice! As far as air bubbles, when making CP soap, one thing is to keep your stick blender straight down flush against the bottom of the container, and try not to let it go to the side as it pushes air to the top and creates bubbles...

    just a spoon?

I tried using a spoon once and I had a very ruined, lye heavy batch (I also think I miss-measured, didn't use a lye calculator, ) so from then on, except one time, I use a stick blender. I used a whisk with a small one pound batch and about a 60 hard oils 40 soft oils ratio and it...

    Hello Everyone

THanks for the welcomes! Yes, by BM I mean buttermilk. I have never used fresh BM, just powdered. I mix into a slurry with a bit of water and add usually at trace. I think I added 2 TBS PPO.. It was a one pound batch. It comes out well, I like it. To me, it "SEEMS" to add a bit more...
