    sticky soap :O(

Hi Tasha & Carebear, thank you for ytour replies, I had a go with a knife after all, it had smoothed the sides off nicely, but thanks for the tip. I don't know if the soap will have lasting insect repellent properties as you say it gets washed off, I had one of those "I wonder if... "kind of...

    sticky soap :O(

Hi all, I thought I'd try an insect repellant soap with EO's and calamine powder to colour my swirls. All was going really swimmingly until I came to unmold it from my silicone molds. Where my swirls with calamine powder were touching the mold, the soap was really sticky and clung to the...

    Why can't I get purple?

Me too, I infused my oils with alkanet before mixing with lye solution. They start out a really vivid cerise colour, as soon as you add the lye it goes a fab royal purple which lightes to a lovely lavendery colour once cured. I used lavender & clary sage EO's + lavender buds for texture...

Safety Assessments for CP in UK

Hi Simplyangelic & retropants, I haven't seen a better offer anywhere else, and as you say simplyangelic, he is really helpful, and he offered me the 2 extra CP SA's for free!! (would usually be another £50 each) I know what you mean about the overall price in one go, but I think it might be...

Safety Assessments for CP in UK

Hi retropants, thanks for your reply, I've seen these too but they seem to be more expensive overall if I go for bath products, bombs, creams & lotions etc as well, where as the other one includes a really good range of product types and will do 2 CP soaps for free!, I am always tempted by a...

Safety Assessments for CP in UK

Hi All, Has anyone used a safety assessor they'd recommend for CP soap & general bath products please? I'm tempted by this one http://www.cosmeticsafetyassessment.com ... php?p=1_32 and it seems a good deal. The Chemist who does them has offered to include assessment on 2 CP base recipes...

Please help, what has happened to my soap?

Hi Ewenique, Thanks for the re-batch tip, I'll give it a go. I tried the zap test and it seemed fine, no zap, just crumbly :O( It is just a plain batch so I could test the base recipe without wasting EO's additions etc. I can't wait to crack the base recipe so I can start experimenting...
