I've been doing CP for quite a while, but have only recently started doing HP. If you add the milk after the cook, does it not go sour....and smell sour? And if not, why not?

But does anyone know whether the vegetable milks have any similar or identical constituents as e.g. goat milk? And which if any, give the same properties in the soap? Although I have to say, if I could find an alternative to GM, that performs as well, I would love to try it, as GM always leaves...

Thanks for the replies. Unlike my other two failed batches, the nasty smell seems to have faded within a week or so. The failed ones still stank months later so I had to bin them. They were so bad, I didn't even think I could try any kind of rebatch....and who likes doing that anyway?? I think...

Thanks for the replies. I did use the oil in some goat's milk soap BUT cheated a bit and added 1% Strax Benzoin; so, highly unscientific, I can't tell which is responsible for the lovely vanilla smell in the final soap. :oops:
