Propolis in hand and heel balm

Anybody used/use's bee propolis in their hand/body/heel balms? I'm looking to add to my range of soaps and body balms and have made a few batches of balm using bee propolis from a local bee keeper. It definitely adds a unique aroma to the balm! It also has a good reputation for it's...

    Adding EO to oil?

Is there a reason why EO is recommended to be added at trace? Would it make any difference if I added with the oils before adding lye? Just thinking it's one thing less to think about when getting the batter to trace.

UK soapers .... Where do you buy your OO?

Where do you buy your olive oil? I find that soap suppliers oo is really expensive so I buy mine from Aldi at £2.89 a litre. It's a blend of refined oo and voo @ 3%. It's a nice light colour and makes a near white bar. I think lidl do one at a similar price.

For UK/EU soap makers. CPNP portal help

I'm looking to get ready to start selling my soaps and I'm in the process of registering my products (I'm only making CP soap) with the EU Cosmetic Products Notification Portal. As with all government departments, it's a bit of a minefield! Has anyone on here completed it? My main question (up...

    My first experience of DOS

Just made a batch of coconut milk soap with lemongrass and cinnamon eo, sliced it and found these orange patches on some of the slices, which I assume is DOS. What I'm thinking has caused it is a newly opened tub of palm oil which instead of being easy to scoop out, was very hard and brittle...

Are your soaps palm oil free?

This was a question I asked in another thread, so I thought I'd throw it out there! Apologies if this has been asked before. Do you make soaps Palm oil free? If you sell soap, do people ask if your soap is palm free? If you are palm free, what do you substitute? All my recipes use palm oil, and...

    Natural colours for my soap

Hi guys I don't post that often, but I log in and read recent posts pretty regularly. Always something new to learn! (loving the new soap calculator thread!) Anyway, I've been experimenting with natural colouring for my soap. I have infused paprika and turmeric in oil. Left infusing for about 3...

Hi everyone I have made a few batches of cp soap, all basically same recipe (OO, Rapeseed, PO, CO and one with castor), all made using superfatting and lye concentration recommendations from Soapcalc. Still curing, but have tried a couple and I'm very pleased with the results. :) Question is...

    My 1st and 2nd batches :)

Here are some pics from my first ever CP soap. Both recipes used OO, PO, CO and rapeseed oil in the same quantities but in the 2nd I used coconut milk to replace the water. No colours or fragrance used. As you can see the first one is a lovely creamy yellow, but the coconut milk one hasn't fully...
