The only time I've had crumbly soap is when it has been lye heavy (salt soaps excluded). Are you sure your scale is calibrated? I once left out one of my oils and ended up with crumbly, lye heavy soap. Does it zap at all?
I buy nearly everything in bulk. Columbus Foods is my go-to supplier for just about everything, the exception being olive oil - I can usually get that cheaper locally, once you figure in the shipping.
The Pink Sugar FO I use always turns yellow on me right after pour. Your's is probably orange because of the pink you added. It should morph back to pink as it sets up, mine always does. I use BC vanilla stabilizer as well.
I use The Lye Guy https://www.thelyeguy.com/store/store.php
Good prices, fair shipping, and he ships very fast. He packages his lye in 2lb containers - very easy to store & use.
I've tried it and found it leaves my lint trap sticky and hard to clean. No discernable softening and I still had static cling. Only plus is the scent - it really does stick. I won't be buying it again.
i use silicone sealant similar to this http://www.google.com/products/catalog? ... FIQ8wIwAw# to adhere wicktabs to the bottom of my jars. I just squeeze a small amount directly onto the tab and press it into place with a wooden skewer. It holds up to high temps and is very secure.
I have used the canned goats milk at a 1:1 ratio with distilled water. You can even mix your lye with the water and add the concentrated goats milk at trace to avoid burning the goats milk.
RBD no stir palm is palm oil that doesn't seperate, thus the "no stir". Sustainable palm is palm oil that is certified as harvested from sustainable farms, and not by the usual "slash & burn" method most associated witht he production of palm oil. The two terms are not exclusive, you can have...
Since flavor oils are simply lip safe (edible) fragrance oils, I don't think it will give you a problem in soap. I would do a small test batch, maybe using some inexpensive oils, just to be sure first.
I get all my lye from The Lye Guy - great prices and shipping is very low for me since he is in NY and I am in VT. I pay about 19 cents an ounce, including shipping. I could probably save more if I ordered larger amounts (like 50lbs at a time) but I like the convenience of the 2lb containers...
If I am understanding you right - you added water to the frozen goat milk but still used the correct amount of liquid the recipe called for? If so, the goat milk isn't the problem. All you did was dilute it. Most likely either your fragrance oil or temperatures are the problem.
In my experience, the more hard oils there are in a recipe, the more prone to overheating it will be. Add in accelerators such as honey, milk, etc, and there is definitely more of a chance for a crack down the middle - or worse. :?
You can put the palm oil in a sink of hot water to melt it, or you can cut off the top and scoop it out. As for the cocoa butter - I would cut the top off and get it out that way. The melt point is so high you would be waiting forever for it to melt.
