    Ok a crazy idea...

Just for the heck of it I am going to make the initial paste with one half of the KOH and after dilution (which I assume will be much quicker), I will keep the mixture hot and add the remaining KOH the recipe calls for. Maybe it has been done before, I don't know.......maybe it is CRAZY.....I...

    Making the lye solution question.

DeAnna uses 2 parts glycerin added to the KOH mixed solution that was dissolved in an equal amount of water first. Has anyone ever tried, from the start, just adding the 2 parts glycerin to the 1 part water first........then adding the KOH to that combined mixture? ETA: Oh, and using DeAnna's...

I lost my glycerin liquid soap recipe.

Because I am an idiot and lost my recipe I need to know if I can use the Soapee calculator and use those ratios? I make it with 100 percent glycerin and water is only used after trace to dilute into the final liquid soap. Any info or a link would be GREATLY appreciated.

    Soapers Choice Lard

How do you guys rate it? Do I just use the lard brand choice in Soap Calc, etc., when computing the amount of NaOH for the recipe? I have always bought my lard from a place about 35 miles from my house but I don't feel like driving that far for the last box of lard I will need this winter...

    Help on scent needed

I'd appreciate if all of you could give me ideas on what scent to use to accentuate the soap I make with laurel berry oil at 20-30 percent. Without any scent the soap smells similar to pine/evergreen. Any thoughts on what would accentuate and go well with that type of smell, along with a...

Question on error in oil used

Been soaping for 40 years but I still make BIG boo boos now and then.......LOL!! Well here goes............Soapers Choice sent me 10 lbs of Cocoa Butter in a box instead of Babassu Oil like I ordered. I, like an IDIOT, did not notice this and used a lot of it in a LARGE batch. The recipe...

If You Like Real Dark Soaps
