    Shrink Wrap Question

I have a question for those of you that shrink wrap. When do you do it? Right away, after a week or so, or when fully cured?

    Soap Gremlins

My last 4 batches have behaved differently than normal. I am using the same recipe, but the batches are not gelling well and I have to wait much longer to unmold. I can unmold and cut in 10-12 hours with my lard recipe. It usually gels easily as long as I throw a blanket over it. I've had two...

    Wall Pour Questions

How are the outlines seen in some wall pours achieved? I can do a decent wall pour, but for the life of me, can't get the outlined look.

    Master batching mistakes?

I did a master batch to do two batches of a similar technique. I master batched the lye and oils and then separated them into 2 batches. I stirred both the oils and lye well to make sure they were well dispersed. The first batch had BBs Ginger Ale as a FO and I soaped at 80-90F. The second...

    New Salt Bar

Oh, I think I'm in love. A soap you can formulate, make, mold, unmold, and cut all in one evening..... What's not to love. For someone that has SO much trouble waiting to unmold and cut this is so cool! I've never used one so now the only downside is waiting for the cure.

    First Butterflies!

I'm pretty happy w / these. Second attempt and I got 3 out of 5 sets. This was a goat milk soap that I didn't gel. The only downside is my mold bowed so they really don't stand squared. That's why you can see bars on the side pushing them together.

    What makes soap weepy?

I have an idea it's usually FO, but I'm just guessing. I have had several weepy batches. All of them absorbed and were fine after a few days, but I never really knew why they did that. Also, some days my curing soaps feel hard and dry and some days they seem a little damp.

    Three New Soaps

I'm working on a project of a personal soap for my kids & grandkids. They told me what colors & scents they like & soap properties they wanted. Here are three of my eight. My youngest granddaughter wanted something pink & flowery. Younger son wanted a vegan bar that wasn't too dark. One of my...
