    And the cut......

Nag Champa, now at least, is pure synthetic. I've read that it's supposed to be a blend of Sandalwood and Frangipani (Plumeria). That being said, fragrance oils labeled 'Nag Champa' should all smell very, very similar ... but they don't, necessarily. Dragon's Blood fragrance oils are even worse...

    High-palmitic vs. high-stearic, once again

I realize this is a little off topic from your experiment, but ... you can get the smell of cocoa butter to come through in your soap?! How great that would be! Unfortunately, the smell totally disappears for me. I do OHP though, so maybe that makes a difference.

Anyone know of any good wholesale supplier for essential oils?

My 3 favorite EO companies are the same ones as mentioned before ... New Directions Aromatics Camden Grey Liberty Naturals I've had some good FOs and bad FOs from both NDA & CG ... but FOs seem to be a hit-or-miss for me anywhere! lol Haven't ordered from NDA since last year and their FO were...

Question about Hot Process, EO & carrier oil?

I agree w/ Kcryss ... I do HP as well. Always add my EOs at the end WITH the superfat. I do OHP ... once it's completely saponified (looks like vaseline) then I stir in my yogurt - stir well, turn oven off, put it back in for 5 min. (Warm your yogurt first - learned that one the hard way. lol)...

What separates one soap company from another?

I've been using mostly essential oils in my soaps since I started over 15 yrs ago - just last year did I start using FOs. The problem with some of the more 'rare' EOs (that are used by aromatherapists for one action or another) is that they can be quite expensive if you want to use them in soap...

    In need of suggestions ...

Thanks guys! I think I'm going with the elves theme ... kinda solves the issue. :) That sounds like it was SUPER fun, KimW! lol ... not really trying to be cutesy ... recipient just sounds super formal to me, especially for a low-income (and questionable education) group. As for doing a White...

    In need of suggestions ...

Hello all ... need some suggestions and I thought this group would be a great place to ask! I'm in charge of a Secret Santa type gift swap this holiday season. The reason I say 'type' is because it's really a mix of your typical Secret Santa (gift exchange) and Secret Pal. My idea/intention...

    Crochet Soap holder pattern.

I like to keep an assortment of these (and washcloths) to have on hand at my farmer's market and craft shows. I only use cotton and switch up my stitches and colors so I have a good variety. It's what I do during the 'down time' between customers so I keep busy. lol

Sulphur in potassium soap, is it possible?

That was a good read. Only one thing. You mention on your web page "You may want to sift sulfur powder to remove coarse particles before adding it to soap." ummm ... you might want to reconsider recommending that! I use the Sublimed sulfur (aka flowers of sulfur) in a personal product for our...

    Hand Sanitizer

I just don't understand why people who are AT HOME (not when you're out and about, obviously) are hung up on unsing hand sanitizer. Use the soap! Even the CDC has said that soap and water work better than hand sanitizer.

    Post your Gripe

That's so interesting. I've read before about various blood types and susceptibility to some of the major diseases, but hadn't heard it's relation to norovirus. DH (O-) is quite susceptible to it ... when he gets it, he gets it BAD. Our first son who got married, a friend of his brought their...
