    Felted cat cave

Here is the latest cat cave I made. The flowers are mawata (silk hankies) that I dyed. I haven't felted with those yet so it was a fun and successful experiment.

    Help with DOS

So I've been soaping for 10+ years. Used the same recipe for years. Suddenly getting DOS on some batches. The one thing I can think of that changed is where my bulk oils are stored. I have a soaping lab in our new garage that has in floor heat and my large jugs of oil and 5 gal buckets sit on...

    Brush embroidery

After seeing IrishLass post last week about brush embroidery I checked out soaping101's video. Looked like fun and I already had some cured round soap to try it on. Their "frosting" recipe is 85% CO and 15% OO made with heat transfer method. I whipped some up, added color to half and had maybe...

    Swirl attempt

My attempt at a zebra swirl with a hanger finish. Don't really love the color combination I chose, wanted the pink a bit brighter. Scented with cane sugar & rhubarb (or something like that) from MMS

    Soap cake

This is my first attempt at a soap cake. I couldn't find a silicon cake pan, so I lined my springform pan with plastic. Fragranced it with a blend of Ginger milk, ginger cookie and fresh apple.

    Almond Milk Soleseife

Had some almond milk getting old in the fridge so tested it out in a brine soap. Trial scent too, Tall Grass, I think it was from Peak. Turned out wonderfully so far, can't wait to try it.

    Share your regionally themed soap

I'm from Alaska and I know it's odd, but up here people do all kinds of things with moose nuggets (poop) for tourists. Moose are pretty huge animals but their poop is small 1 1/2" oblong, very dry, no stink, it's pretty much just compressed bark and they leave piles of it all over the place :)...

    A few more batches

Left to right are eucalyptus mint, ginger pomelo, water fruit (grapefruit and watermelon fo's) and green tea. The green tea riced a bit but still came out okay. And here they are cut...In a different order

    Coconut milk salt soap

My first time using coconut milk. 80% coconut oil, Shea, and castor with 75% sea salt. Used a coconut milk FO and a bit of lime EO. Can't wait to try it!

    A quest regarding additives

I'm beginning a quest to determine what potential benefits we end up with in the finished bar when using food additives. Many of you may have achieved this quest and have since been knighted. Congratulations to you! But this humble student must press on in search of the truth. And so I humbly...

    Needle felting!

I finally found a "sit down" craft I can do that doesn't make my hands/body hurt. Though I love soaping, it's just not that easy to do while relaxing with the family on the couch. This is my first realistic creation. Here is one of my more typical Wee Woolies (husband came up with the name).

    Bad FO prob solved

Have a popular FO that causes seizing and ricing. This time I waited until the very last minute to add the FO (had a couple ounces of the batch oils in it too). Soaped cool, Added the FO to the blue, stirred and poured, then added the FO to the white. Other than a little veining of the white...

    CPOP vs CP

Here is a batch of rhubarb scented soap that I split. The first half (pic 1) went in the oven at 170 for one hour then sat over night. The second half (pic 2) just sat on the table with a cardboard box over it. The CPOP has a much more solid smooth creamy look overall. I think it wins. The...

    CP sugar scrub

My first go at a sugar scrub. I'm always looking for ways to utilize soap scraps and these look great way. Used a basic recipe found here (originally Mayren's) Melted: 200g shredded soap (some was fresh and some was older, all pastel colors ) 100g Shea butter Once melted added: 300g sugar 5g...

    Failed beer soap

Gave a go at my first beer soap...epic fail When I mixed my beer (Very dark oatmeal stout) lye mixture with my oils (both at about 85F) it almost instantly seized. I stick blended for about 3 seconds, turned to grab some clay and bam! Big gooey mess. I stirred it by hand some and added some FO...

    Weird 'lacy' coloration

Hi all, I'm Juliet. Been CP soaping for 8 years but recently started getting more creative with it. This is my first post on the forum though I have been lurking for a couple weeks :) I've seen a few posts on this problem, but none of them seem to be the answer here. The predominant thought...
