Show # 2 under my belt!

So theoretically you could get the non-profit table for $395 if you didn't sell enough to cover your table fee...

    lets see your labels?

Since there was a request for kraft labels, here are mine. :D For those who will ask: The soap labels are cut from kraft paper I get at Office Depot and print on, and the stick on labels are from onlinelabels.com.

    Home parties

I've had a few people ask me about doing home parties too... Do you mind if I ask how exactly you went about doing it? Did you have samples for everyone to try out? Did you do a presentation? Or do you just set up a booth and let people pick/order?

    Craft shows & introversion

I have dealt with very serious anxiety my entire life, so I totally understand where you're coming from! I was so nervous at my first show I nearly puked in the parking lot and I shook like a leaf for the first 30 minutes. And that was even with my sister there as support. I do love selling...

    grainy lip balm

Ok so this is probably a dumb question but... Once it's been tempered and quickly cooled, does it stay tempered? If it is melted again after the initial temper (to mix with the other oils for the recipe) does it then un-temper it? Would I have to temper the recipe as a whole?

Thanks for the feedback! I'll try to post another picture with the spots of color on it after the benefit show. :)

    Show Setup - Any Suggestions?

This particular setup has come to this point over the past year. I'm pretty happy with it for the most part, but I will be vending at a large fundraising fashion show and boutique next month (the news will be there! I"m kind of nervous) and I'm wondering if there's anything I can do to make it...

    First "big" show

For where to place your company name - Could you make a frame to hold your banner from? Then you could place it either behind you/your products or maybe to the side in a way people could see. Perhaps just a square/rectangular frame with perpendicular pieces at the bottom to keep it from knocking...

Other soap vendors at markets - good thing or bad thing?

I do prefer to be the only soap booth at shows (who doesn't?), but have done several with at least one other soaper. It's frustrating with her because she DOES make claims like clears acne, heals eczema, and the caffeine in her coffee soap will GET RID of your cellulite! She also prices her bars...

Soap samples - do you hand them out at shows?

It is called Paper Mart (papermart.com) and the specific bags I got are the "3 x4 1.5MIL Poly Bags". They don't zip, you do have to tape them shut. But they work great for me, and I have even printed out some little stickers that have coupon codes to seal them with if I am putting them into...

    questionnaire:-)

What a great thread idea! How often do you soap? Gearing up for holidays now - every night! During the slow months, maybe a few batches every few weeks. How often do you purchase supplies? About once a month for the big oil purchases, with a scattering of little things (colorants, EOs) in...

Soap samples - do you hand them out at shows?

I hand out samples at the shows I do. I use the ends from my loaves, cut them in half, then slice slivers off. Enough for a few washings. Then I package them into little plastic sleeves I got from a paper & plastic supplier, add in a printed piece of paper with my company name, website, and...

    Bizarre Experience with "Competion"

That's what I attempted to do, maybe not quite as gracefully. I will practice, and hopefully if we meet again I can be even more vague. Thanks! And I love the quote!!

    Bizarre Experience with "Competion"

Thanks! My husband also suggested telling her that my most popular scent was something disgusting. I'm starting to like that idea more and more! lol!
