White bits floating in liquid soap

This might explain it then, as I think it was around 30ºC when I poured into the bottles. The yellow soap was poured at around 20ºC and has no white bits. Thanks for your input

White bits floating in liquid soap

Hi DeeAnna, Yes, the two versions are exactly the same except for fragrance (and obviously colour). They were stored in the same place at room temperature (around 16ºC to 18ºC). My guess is that it's the fragrance, considering the only difference is the FO. Any idea on how to get rid of it...

White bits floating in liquid soap

Hi guys, I made some liquid soap on 14/09/2017 and it was perfectly clear, but today I've noticed that it has started to show some tiny white particles floating about. I've used this recipe many times and had no issues, so could it be the fragrance? I've attached some pics. The yellow one...

    Sticky Lotion

Hi :) I have tried it without xanthan gum and it was still sticky. Actually, it was more sticky without xanthan gum, but the recipe had different percentages of oils and water.

    Sticky Lotion

Hi guys, I'm having trouble with making a nice light hand lotion that isn't sticky. I get the consistency right with xanthan gum, and it's not oily, but when I rub it into my hands it gets really sticky. The recipe I used was: •*380g Distilled Water (78.19%) •*18g Emulsifying Wax (3.7%)...

    Speckled Colour in Bath Bombs

Thank you. I did spend a fair amount of time mixing the colour in ....I guess it needs a lot more time though. Also, I did add the dye straight from the bottle rather than dispersing it in water, would that have affected it? I've tried adding the dye to the oils before and it doesn't disperse.

    Speckled Colour in Bath Bombs

Hi guys! :) I'm having some trouble with colouring my bath bombs. I used a concentrated liquid dye and added drops at a time while mixing in by hand. Does anyone know why it has come out all speckled? How do you colour your bath bombs? recipe: •*240g Baking Soda •*180g Corn...

When to add fragrance? (Liquid Soap)

That's what I usually do too. Just wondering if anyone knows if it's still a good idea to add the fragrance when the soap has cooled down :)

When to add fragrance? (Liquid Soap)

Hey guys, So I'm wondering when the best time is to add fragrance to diluted soap. I like to dilute my soap paste in a warm crock pot of water. So, once the paste has fully diluted, is the best time to add fragrance whilst the soap is still warm or when it has cooled? I appreciate any help...

    Are Preservatives Needed?

I found on the SoapQueen blog that they recommend using liquid silk during the dilution stage (that's why I did it like that), but yeah, try it ...I hope it turns out well :)

    Are Preservatives Needed?

Well, I think (I'll have to confirm) that the liquid silk is just tussah silk fibres dissolved in glycerin. So unless the glycerin can turn rancid?? It lathers fairly well. I think the saltwater has reduced it, but otherwise it would be a watery wash.

    Are Preservatives Needed?

Saltwater was added after the soap had fully diluted and cooled Why 'in my case' is a preservative needed? ....is it because of the liquid silk? :)

    Are Preservatives Needed?

I'm wondering if liquid soaps need preserving, or are they fine and virtually never turn rancid? My recipe is: 18oz. Coconut Oil 4oz. Palm Oil 10oz. Olive Oil 10oz. Canola (Rapeseed) Oil 8oz. Sweet Almond Oil 11.4oz. Potassium Hydroxide 33.3oz. Distilled Water Then 1.6lbs soap...

    Liquid Soap + Saltwater

    Liquid Soap + Saltwater

I tried that but it left a water blob of mess in my crock pot. So now I stick to a 25% dilution (25% actual soap)
