My first Share: Moroccan Clay and Coconut Laundry :pic heavy

We use a combination. Prefolds with covers during the day and pocket diapers with microfiber inserts at night and when he's with the grandparents. It's mostly the pocket diapers and inserts that get stinky, although my husband found a prefold that had the stink :( I do wash them together though...

My first Share: Moroccan Clay and Coconut Laundry :pic heavy

Awesome soaps! Just a quick bit of advice about using homemade laundry soap on cloth diapers...I cloth diaper my son (cotton prefolds and pocket diapers) and have already had to strip them several times. It seems that the CO will leave a residue (even at 0% superfat) and can cause stink/and...

    Quick Laundry Soap Question

Ours probably does too, but I think it comes out cheaper ordering a gallon-ish online.

    Quick Laundry Soap Question

Good point about the lather. It doesn't lather gray, but I'm still afraid lol. I suppose I could slice the soap and just use the white parts. I want to make a 100% coconut oil soap for laundry soap, but I've been out of coconut for a while and the budget is pretty tight with a little one on the...

    Quick Laundry Soap Question

I was wanting to grate one of my bars to mix with borax and washing soda. However, the only bars I have are ones made with charcoal (it has one layer white soap, layer of charcoal colored, white, then charcoal) and one with moroccan red clay (same layered set up). The charcoal layered one has...

Coffee Soap and gel vs non-gel

Whoa, that is a HUGE difference! I had no idea. I wonder if it was the cocoa to blame? Or if it would've been that big of a difference without it. The dark one almost looks like the charcoal soap I have.

    average superfat

Depends really. I used to SF around 7%. If it's a salt soap, it's 20% (100% CO), and I just made 3 batches at 8%. So far I love the 8% ones. But that's not saying much since I've loved just about every batch I've made.

    Question about Activated Charcoal

Hmm, I've only made 2 batches with charcoal and I will say that my top black swirls do look a little more dark grey than black, but I have a bit of ash. I tried a small piece in the shower yesterday though and once it got wet it looked great.

    Question about Activated Charcoal

You'll love working with it. A little bit goes a LONG way. I want to make some more with black swirly/layers but I need more coconut oil :(

    Question about Activated Charcoal

I just checked my invoice. I had 2lbs and 8oz of stuff (charcoal, lavender flowers, and moroccan red clay) and the shipping was $9.83 plus .99 handling. You can get an 8oz of the charcoal from them for $5.49. I was mistaken in my earlier post. The pound is $10.49 (which is what I got).

    tempering lip balm ?

The few times I've tried shea in my lip balms they've went grainy too. I've heard that popping them in the fridge after pouring will keep them smooth but I haven't tried it. I've come up with my final (maybe? lol) recipe that I'm in love with that doesn't include shea and I've gotten no...
