I'm just getting back into making some b&b products after taking a break. And wow! If I knew there was a global jojoba shortage on the horizon, I would have bought more last winter! The properties of it that I really like and hope are in other carrier oils as well are 1) long shelf time...

I started making my own after we all discussed it on another thread. 1 lb borax 1 lb sodium percarbonate 1# batch grated palm & coconut soap lavindin eo I've washing about 4 loads with it so far and have been really happy with it.

I second the suggestion of sodium percarbonate. I work at a winery and that is one of our primary ways of cleaning equipment.

I'm still pretty new but I've found that I can avoid air bubbles but pouring at a relatively thin trace.

I learned the orange EO lesson this week. I was doing little 2oz trial soaps with different scents in solo cups; I poured the EOs/FOs in the cups and by the time I came over with my light trace soap the sweet orange/clove blend had eaten through the bottom. :shock:

I picked up a 2lb container at the chemistry store since I needed some other stuff as well. I'm looking forward to giving it a try.

I thought the exact same thing when I saw that. So bizarre for a product that is supposed to be a gentle cleanser for all skin types! :shock:

Has anyone ever tried using sodium percarbonate (sold with some added goodies for much more $$ as oxiclean) instead of washing soda? Since sodium percardonate breaks down into sodium carbonate (aka washing soda) and hydrogen peroxide, I thought it might work just as well...

I'm a relatively new soaper so have used each mold only about 10x with smaller 1lb batches. So far the pvc has held up fine- maybe a scuff or two on the edge but no breakage. I bought normal 3" pvc from lowe's.
