    answer to deda Deda, Yes, while I am perfecting my cp and hp skills I thought I'd also try my hand at mp. I bought a 25# clear mp frm WSP and got it today.. so It will be a fun weekend to experiment and try new things. el

    bulk bulk right now to me is 50#...perhaps when I get the business off the ground I can affourd to buy 100#'s at a time. I did place an order with wholesale supplies plus this evening and am satisfied with the price I paid. Thanksfor the help!

    ok..I have visited numerous sites and am finding that shipping adds a tremendous amount to the per pound cost of base. Any suggestions for your favorite? Bramble Berry seems to have about the best deal/quality along with SF? company.

    Microwave vs Double boiler

    My husband read somewherer that using a microwave will cause the soap to lose "bubble" quality. Any pros or cons to this statement? What do you do?

    hee hee..sorry..the newbie panics! Sorry, everyone! I am like a new mother who feels like she is going to hurt her newborn! lol I just need to be patient and watch the crockpot. It is turning.. I'll post what happens after I mold it!

    I have a batch of soap in the crock pot...following a you tube video ..I am not seeing my batch do anything that the video shows... I mixed together the oils and lye mixture ... mixed/stirred to trace (which happened very fast) waited for the separation, covered and then waited for it to turn...

    Can you help me understand the conversion?

    OK... since I have no palm oil, I have decided to try this recipe... seems like alot of shortening.... Can someone help me grasp the concept of conversion to percentages to plug into the soap calculator? I feel very stupid ...and getting frustrated..I really want to make soap! 16...

    adding lye... ok..so If I put the flubbed mixture into the cockpot and add 10.1 oz of lye... How do I add the lye? if I mix it with water how much?..ugh...this soap making is not for the faint hearted.
