Thanks so much! That's exactly what I wanted to know. Definitely won't be going there! :P

Soap Cupcakes...can you use the paper liners?

Hi everyone :) I'm wondering if anyone has made soap cupcakes (mini ones) and poured the batter directly into the little paper cups, and if so, how does it work? Does the paper get soggy or squished looking ...or get stuck to the soap? TIA :)

    Adobe Photoshop?

I use Photoshop for basic photo editing only. I would probably lose my mind figuring out how to do labels with it. I consider myself to be a fairly bright person, but even after taking a course, Photoshop just fries my brain. I use Print Shop Deluxe for all of my labels and absolutely love it.

    Piping tips

My own favourites are the open star tips and yes the larger ones are easiest and nicest looking. (IMO) I love piping soap batter! :) Check out Karen of Edens Secret (youtube) She is a soap piping queen! :)

    Lotion Bar Labels?

Very nice label :) but you do need to list your ingredients by their International Nomenclature (INCI) , not their common names. A bit of a nuisance but be thankful that you don't have to do bilingual product titles in the U.S. Here in Canada we have to do both English and French. A real PITA...

    Wrapped or Unwrapped?

I also really don't like open bars of soap - collecting dust, getting shoved up people's noses. LUSH stores disgust me for this reason (well, other reasons too, but that's a big one). Ditto!! For this reason you couldn't pay me enough to use a LUSH product. The thought of using a product...

    Need help conquering labels

I too completely gave up on the Avery site. :x I print most of my labels using print shop deluxe and love it...most of the time. Round ones do give me some grief so I also just started buying full sheet labels and using a large punch. I have a pretty large collection of them in different shapes...

soap without lye? Yeah... I think she lies.

I make a Syndet bar and there's no lye in my formula... It's really nice and very gentle, but I'd hardly call it "all natural"

    Prices much too low.

Am I the only one who gets frustrated by the vendors on Etsy etc. selling their products for ridiculously low prices? It seems as though many don't actually sit down and work out what it's actually costing them per unit. I swear, I see some vendors that can't be making any actual profit at all...

unlabeled white stuff in the lab...

Choose one and make a small batch of lotion. Just make something with one inexpensive oil. If it emulsifies and turns into a lotion,it's Emulsifying wax. Cetyl Alcohol on it's own won't create an emulsion, so if it separates, it's Cetyl Alcohol.

Natural emulsifier for leave-in hair product?

I'm not sure about the plastic...would it not melt or warp a bit in boiling water? I guess you could test it first. My next suggestion would be a 1 quart canning or pickle jar. Most of us have one or two of those kicking around in the cupboard or the back of the fridge. They work great for small...

Frosting fell off of my cake slices. :( Can anyone tell me why?

I didn't notice this post before I responded below. Thanks :). That's an interesting experience you've had with the SL in hot process. I may have to try making something with piped soap without the SL and see if there is a difference but it's looking more and more like that's the culprit. Too...

Frosting fell off of my cake slices. :( Can anyone tell me why?

Thanks everyone for your suggestions. I think I'll try wetting the 2 sides with water first. It makes sense that the water would work. If not, I'll try with a thin layer of cp soap. I wish I knew what caused it in the first place though. It's going to make me nervous making the cakes again.
