Wanted to ask this Q before I head off to school, coz I want to soap this afternoon and hopefully someone can let me know what I am doing wrong!

I soap at a lower temp, 110-100°F. Lately I have been getting a partial gel.

I stick my mold in the fridge while I make my batch. Then once I have put it in the mold, I stick it back in the fridge.

For some reason I am getting a partial gel on nearly all of my soaps. Is it because I am soaping at a lower temp? Or is it just one of those things? Can certain fragrance oils cause the soap to heat up causing the partial gel?

I know that the partial gel doesn't make a difference to the quality of soap and it's only a visual issue. I would just like it not to happen!

:)

Are you soaping with milk, honey or another sugar? Those can cause soap to heat up. Aside from that I would put it in the freezer not the fridge if you want to help stop gel.

yes certain FOs can cause the soap to heat up.

I have never successfully prevented gel in any sort of reliable manner, and so I just make sure I get full gel on all of them...
