I don't remember ordering this, but I ended up with a small bottle of niaouli EO in my stash. To me, it smells like vicks vaporub! Has anyone used this scent in your soaps? Do you combine with another scent? Just don't want my soap to smell like medicine. Suggestions?

thanks!!

Hi Joni,
Niaouli is in the melaleuca family (think tea tree) so it has a lot of those same medicinal, antiseptic type qualities to it. It would mix well with other camphor/terpine type essential oils like eucalyptus. To cut down the harsh edge I might mix it with peppermint. Or lemon, but citrus don't stick around in CP soap as long as others.

Hope this helps!

thanks for the reply. I also did some googling, and found that lavender works well with it. I'm going to try it in some m&p soaps first...maybe some tangerine, lemon grass, and niaouli...that ought to wake you up!
