I have recently fallen in love with a scent. The product is described as wild verbena. The ingredients list essential oils (not fragrance oils). To me it smells like leaves from a citrus tree with a hint of mint.

So I googled wild verbena essential oil and wow is it expensive! I would love to find a cheaper fragrance oil that smells similar to this wonderful smell. Has anyone used either of these?

If you have used it, is it anything like I described? Does anyone have any other suggestions that they have tried?

Lemon Verbena smells a lot like Lemongrass or Lemon Myrtle to me. Not exactly, but very close.

I just got a vanilla verbana from wsp the other day, defintely smell the vanilla but with hint of lemon. My daughter thinks it smells like a lemon drop but I smell mostly a sweet vanilla.

So this has nothing to do with Verbena EO but last year I grew Lemon Verbena in my herb garden and fell in love with the smell. At first sniff it's almost like a strong lemon smell. I use it to make Lemon Verbena sun tea. I wonder what would happen if I infused the leaves in some oil....would the smell remain in the oil? Hmmmmmmm anyway, I will plant it again this year for sure ;)

If I can find some tea I might try that. Tea is something that is on my list to try in soap. I have no idea if the scent will survive though.
