Irishlass, what part of the world are you located in? Just wondering if relative humidity makes a difference. I'm in a part of Canada that is fairly dry (just slightly more average rainfall than Arizona).

I live in the very dry desert southwestern part of the US where the humidity is so low that's its practically non-existent except for maybe 4 weeks spread out here and there throughout of the year (which is wonderful for soapmaking!).

IrishLass :)

18 months???? As in, like, one and a half year???
woah, now that's commitment!

Not commitment. Just preference because I don't like the feel of Castile or its lather. I didn't wait 18 months to try the soap. I would use a bar at different intervals. That's how I found out I preferred a long, long cure. Actually, I've never made it again. I made Bastile soap but then stopped making it, too. I don't even use a high percentage of olive now.
