what this is? I assume separation? I've used the same recipe dozens of times, same temperature and same mold but this is a first. I did use Bay Rum FO for the first time so maybe this is the culprit. I may not have blended enough which is what I hope as i like the FO already.

Yup I always gel. I had a slight suspicion it might have gotten too warm as when I checked it about 10 hours after pouring I had oil, I checked to make sure it was oil, on the top of the mold. I never get that so maybe it was the FO.

Oh yeah. That's separation :( Try again, but don't insulate as much as usual. When I have a "heater" (honey in the batch or something), I give it a peek at around 2 hours to see what it's up to. If I see it rising, I'll take off a a blanket or something to lessen the amount of heat around my mold. I love Bay Rum too much to let it get the best of me :)
