Hello,

So I was trying a new recipe and I thought it was going good but for some reason the batter when I went to mix it turned a green color. It looked like I used pomace olive oil but I did not. Here is the recipe I tried:

Coconut Oil - 25%
Shea Butter - 15 %
Olive Oil - 40 %
Sweet Almond Oil - 10 %
Avocado Oil - 10 %

If there is anything you think I should fix for this recipe please let me know.

Thanks

Is your avocado oil green or did you use a green tinted fragrance?

I wouldn't be concerned with a color change like that, I need it lightens as it cures.

The recipe looks fine, personally I would lower the coconut down to 15 or 20% but I have dry skin.

I agree with Obsidian. Unrefined avocado oil can be quite dark green. So even at 10% you might see a color change. I think your soap will be lighter by the time it is done curing. Mine seem to end up a yellow/gold off white.

When I want a dark color like green, brown I use Pomace Olive Oil instead of the lighter one. Also using it at 40 percent plus will help with changing colors. I'd never use Pomace if I wanted to use a color or just a nice creamy look.

Actually, you didn't say you used the dark olive oil...Sorry
