What if I use 90% alcohol instead of water in lye solution (CP)???

Your soap will seize.
That's why most people boil the alcohol out of beer for their beer soaps and that is only at most 10% alcohol (usually less).

I ask this because I know that they use alcohol to make transparent soap (HP)...

That is a completely different process than just plain CP or HP though.

The alcohol is added after cooking the oils/lye solution for transparent soap, although it's a little more involved than that. It's on my list of soaps to try
