This is an amazing book for those who want to understand some of the science behind essential oils and aromatherapy. This is the most comprehensive book I've seen so far and I strongly recommend it.
In this book they get into contra indicators, as well as risks. They also get into toxicity which I feel is incredibly important to know. It's a little pricey, but truly, well worth it. I personally use this book as a reference and is always close at hand.
