    Yiang Yiang stinks!

I ordered some YY3 from Liberty and you're right.... blech. Before that I always ordered my ylang from Essential Depot and will continue to do so. I am not sure which distillation they sell but if you are wanting a strong sweet lovely floral give them a try :)

Liquid castile soap, from scratch or from bars?

I make a 100% OO LS and superfat at 3% I get a fairly clear soap diluting the paste at 1 part paste to 1 1/2 part distilled water. It dilutes to a thicker soap so I do not have to thicken it. I leave mine unfragranced so if you add EO/FO you might have to play with the dilution rate depending on...

    Dragons blood soap

She states in her video that she is not using any fragrance at all just the infused resin as scent. I found it a little hard to believe which is why I asked. I could still use it for color which is great since it's very hard to get a natural red colorant ( I use madder root now ). I plan on...

    Dragons blood soap

I got my hand on some dragons blood resin today and wanted to try it out in soap. I have seen a soaping 101 video before where she infused the resin in oil and used it. She states that the scent is still there after saponification. Would this be true? I don't want to use it if it isn't and I...

    Farmers market woes!!!!

I can see your point if there were quilters and jewelry vendor etc.... However at least in my region farmers markets are marketed at people who are trying to find healthier chemical free products etc..... Whereas soaps to me would qualify. A lot of people who do not want to eat the pesticides...

    Farmers market woes!!!!

Thanks everyone for your suggestions. I do have the rules and it say nothing about soaps just produce and baked goods etc.... Which is why I emailed the market manager first to find out. As far as growing anything I could however this will not help me with the products I have at this moment. I...

    Farmers market woes!!!!

So after doing a few festivals last year I decided to try a weekly market. I am currently doing one on Fridays mornings but obviously on a weekday morning it's not all that busy. Our big one in town on Saturday mornings already has a soaper and with a $500 booth fee for the season, she can have...

    Face cream ????

When you make a salt bar for your face do you make the usual 100% CO salt bar? I would like to try one on my face however I am afraid that one would be to drying? Also I have seen where some people make them with 70 or 80% coconut oil and then add like shea or avocado oil. When you do that do...

    Coconut Milk- Liquid or Powder

Coconut milk itself is mainly water. There is no milk in the coconut itself. It is made by pressing the coconut flesh with water. I would be more concerned with the other additives in silk Sent from my DROID RAZR using Soap Making mobile app
