I would use rain water over hard tap water. Hard water will more likely leave soda ash on your soap. Not sure what else it would or would not do if anything. I sometimes use filtered water myself but I mostly soap with coconut milk.

No No I wasn't thinking cut the tops off. I was just saying when you cut them into bars you won't barely notice a tiny crack as oppose to a big one in a big loaf. But maybe cut the tops off.........LOL I commented in your other post on a solution.

Ok so I read in your other post you pushed it together. Good idea I would say. You can always pipe some soap on top to hide it or you can maybe rub some mica or sparkles on top to disguise it. I think your soap did over heat. Maybe your cool room is a bit warmer today? IDK.
