    I have flakes !!!!

Only other soapers would understand my excitement !! I found a local supplier for lye flakes, which I much prefer to the granules. They are just so much easier to handle IMO.

    Soccer Fever in South Africa

We are hosting the 2010 World Cup and the atmosphere is electric. Just about every car has flags flying from it, people are all wearing scarves, beanies etc. showing their support for various countries. Are there any soccer fans who are watching the games ?

    My perfect soap storage solution

I have finally found the ultimate storage/transport solution. Holes have been drilled into the lid and sides to provide ventilation. I have been using this for about 6 weeks now and the soap is perfect. No sweating and no cross contamination of aromas. The boxes stack neatly and are...

    Show - No show

Well for what it's worth we had a table at a large Show/Expo for the four days over the Easter weekend. Lesson learned ~ do not waste time, effort or money at anything other than Craft shows or Holistic Fayres. Visitors to general expo's do not "get it" ( at least not in South Africa ) and it...

    What's up with Topeka ?

Is it just my computer, or has the word "s*o*a*p" been replaced with "Topeka" everywhere ? I am hoping this is just an April 1 joke, not something serious.

    Door Guardians

I have been offered a stall for one of the top 10 Business shows in the country. Four whole days over the Easter weekend with thousands of visitors. This is far and away the biggest show I have ever attended and I have NO IDEA how much stock to prepare. http://www.randshow.co.za/exhibitor.html

    Well now....about those horror stories

It seems that one can hardly turn around without hearing some horror story or another about various harmful ingredients used in everyday products. I had read long ago about the allegation that SLS can cause damage to hair follicles and thought "Yeah, yeah, yeah........not another thing to...

    Liquid Castille

I have been asked to make a 100% OO liquid soap. The customer is allergic to Coconut in any form. Has anyone made this before and is there also a "slime" factor involved ? Thanks.

    Pomegranate Concentrate

Has anyone ever used this ? Mine is 99 % Pomegranate, 1% Ascorbic Acid and is like a well matured Balsamic vinegar in consistency. How much would you use ? When/where would you add it ? I am guessing that the Ascorbic acid will neutralise some of the caustic soda so probably not good to...

    Re-usable liners

http://www.flickr.com/photos/9703803@N05/sets/72157607995875765/ I need to add that I also secure some insulation tape across the four base corners to prevent leakage. The clear bits are cut from flexible chopping mats and then joined together with duct tape. The duct tape needs to be...
