My oatmeal, milk and honey soap did that too. It overheated in the center and caused some bubbling and pitting in the gelled circle. Anytime you see a slightly darker circle in the center of your cut bar it's caused by gelling and if the bubbling or pitting is only in that circle it's from over...

I've been using 1TBSP of sugar PPO and I get a really nice lather, lots of bubbles. I usually measure out my water, add the sugar and stir until completely dissolved then add my lye with my water in an ice bath. There have been a couple of times when I've forgotten to add my sugar before my lye...

Thanks freesia792, the round soap was a flop, the colors were meant to be darker and it was meant to be a circle embedded in a square of black soap with an FO called Dark Kiss. The scent didn't get added and the colors are too light but I'll be trying again soon.

I can't make myself watch a soap video that has music. I think for newer soapers or people who don't soap, it's important for them to HEAR what's going on during a batch. Not everyone understands what they're seeing. I want to listen to them tell me what they're experiencing, why they stop...

First, for such a small batch (8oz of oils), you should measure in grams instead of ounces. Are you using a stick blender or a hand blender that has the 2 detachable beaters? A stick blender is much better. Also, when I enter 8oz of vegetable oil into the lye calculator, it looks like you used...

I don't think Verotxu is making soap to be used on the baby herself. Sounds like maybe baby shower gifts or something. They make a lot of baby products scented with lavender so that may make people think of babies when they smell it. Mostly when I think of baby scents, I think baby powder.

Mine are 1" thick. I don't sell any soap, they're mostly for personal use and gifts so I don't need to worry about size for shipping and pricing.
