I made soap yesterday using Brambleberry's gentle quick mix at room temp. Both oils and lye were about 75 degrees. What a disaster. It is cover in soda ash not sure if I can take it out of the mold for a few days and just overall disappointed. I used another quick mix today and heated the oils and lye to about 95 and it was fine. What is room temp, when it comes to soap?

note: I bought them to try during free shipping and I don't think I would purchase them again. I don't like the idea of using canola oil.

Good question! See this thread that’s also happening today for answers to the same question:

P.S. if they’re using high oleic canola oil it’s probably fine. I don’t use canola, because I can’t find the high oleic kind locally, but there are experienced makers here who do.
