Soapwort or Soapnuts

I used 1tsp dried soapwort powder per soap pound (in the water lye), it changed the final color and increased the bubbles.

Another old thread and several of the posters are not longer around. It is better to start a new thread showing your result. I will mention sorbitol is really less costly and gives better lather. I use it in place of sugar $14.00 for 36 oz. You beat me Relle, I type slow

We grow soap lily in our California native plant yard in a cool place under oak trees. From Theodore Payne native plant nursery. The little bulbs take a long long time to grow into plants. Best to start in pots so they can get water. But if you are in no hurry, they are beautiful in bloom.

Do you use soapwort leaf, flower or roots?

Root powder. They have more stronger properties. And actually you need to boil them to extract that from the plant so I think it works with the cp soap process.
