Hi Kristie,

Sorry I can't help you with the BIG WORDS... they are all just big words to me too. I think you'd need to be a chemist to know what all the ingredients are, how they're derived, whether they're natural, how safe they are, what their properties & functions are, etc etc!

Looking at the ingredients though, it appears to be the stuff that Aussie Soap Supplies sells, and which I bought a while back. While I love their soap, I must say I was not impressed with the shampoo or conditioner, unfortunately. The shampoo is gloopy, doesn't have much lather and smells a bit weird but probably most significantly it didn't feel like it cleaned my hair/scalp very well at all. Much the same disappointment for the conditioner too. Now I'm trying to work out if there is any way I could use it as an ingredient in any other product as I don't want it to go to waste if I can help it!

Sorry this doesn't answer your question - I just thought I'd let you know what I thought of the product. :)

naw, you don't need a chemist. you just need google.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lauryl_glucoside a surfactant used in cosmetics)

http://www.cosmeticsinfo.org/ingredient ... nt_id=1077 (Acyl sarcosines and sarcosinates enhance the appearance and feel of hair, by increasing hair body, suppleness, or sheen, or by improving the texture of hair that has been damaged physically or by chemical treatment. They also clean skin and hair by helping water to mix with oil and dirt so that they can be rinsed away.)

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cocamidopropyl_betaine (shampoos and hand soaps, and in cosmetics as an emulsifying agent and thickener, and to reduce irritation purely ionic surfactants would cause. It also serves as an antistatic agent in hair conditioners.)

and so on and so on.
