perservatives for scrubs?

What kind of perservative would you use in a salt or sugar scrub.

I dont use any in my personal stuff because it gets used fast but if i was to sell it i would want it to last

Another question is would you need an immulsifier?

LiquaPar. (See info link below) I always use an emulsifier because I can't deal with the slurry, separating scrubs. It's really just a preference though. You don't HAVE to use one.
