So I'd been out of the forum for a bit but I had a developer message me today about a new Soap/Lye calc that they created and is in the Google play store right now. This thing is scary accurate. and Customizable. So much that for a basic 16 oz 3 oil liquid soap, the lye and water amounts were dead on compared to SoapCalc.net, when using the 90% KOH impurity. I was also able to tweak the impurity percentage to make the lye output match that of the Summer Bee Meadow Calc, by changing it from 90% to 94% KOH purity. This app also provides cleansing factors and fatty acid content percentages. It is very extensive to say the least, But very simple to use. I've already shared this in a few Facebook groups, so this is the ghist of it:

(So this just popped up on my device through Google Hangouts.

"Hi... I wanted to let you know we have released a great new Soap Lye Calculator and I hope that you would find it useful. Soap Lye Calculator on google playstore... http://bit.ly/1o9FyrV"

" the app has a facebook page called Soap Lye Calculator" https://www.facebook.com/soaplyecalculator

Here is also a video of it in action in PC emulator form. It looks mighty impressive. Soap Lye Calculator Android App on Google Play: http://youtu.be/Iu1JxYDsl1Q

Its 99¢ with no trial period though, but Google Play offers a refund if requested within 15 minutes of purchasing. Kinda handy to have if your comp goes on the fritz and you need to make a quick check. I might give it a shot. It looks to be a hit in the Liquid Soapmakers group Im in. I'd had a long chat with the dev of this app and they seemed to have put a lot of work into it. I believe the only gripe is its numbers aren't 100% like SoapCalc.net, which is to be expected because no 2 lye calcs are exactly the same. So long as the differences are way off by several ounces, any calc should be just fine.

So, give it a shot, share it, show some love and support to another addition in the soap making community..)

This is of course also for bar and cream soaps as well, but if I try to post this in another section of the forum, it'll get deleted. So, I'd figured I'd share here since I only do liquid soaps. it won't get deleted - moved to correct forum.
