Can anyone tell me what is the difference between melt and pour soap and hand milled soap. I haven't made any soap yet, still researching but all I understand from this is that hand milled soap comes from soap that has already been processed while melt and pour uses a soap base not a processed soap?

melt and pour is either a detergent based product or a soap that has something added to make it melt-and-pourable.

milled soaps are basically ground up and then formed into bars. commercially this is done with very heavy presses, among crafters it's done with heat and is called rebatching

Are you asking because you want to make "hand milled melt and pour"?

Yep....carebear is right....handmilling=rebatching.....something I HATE doiing.
