I drink a lot of tea and often brew loose fruit tea. Lots of colors and bits of dried fruit.
Has anyone decorated their soap tops with loose tea and does it discolored or bleed?

Most botanical items, including tea, will turn brown in soap. I've used regular tea leaves before, and they do bleed slightly, but not a lot.

Almost all botanicals turn brown on top of soap, with calendula and very few others being the exceptions. Lavender buds are famous for looking like mouse droppings before the soap is fully cured! I don't have experience with whether the tea will bleed into the top of the soap, but my guess (based on how it worked inside my soap) is that it would.

It could still be pretty, as long as you plan on it being brown and work the potential spots into the design.
