Hi!
I've been making a lip balm recipe that I really like, but I'd like to change it up a little. Could anyone offer me some guidance in doing so.
My current recipe is:
.34 oz. cocoa butter
.505 oz. beeswax
.435 oz. tallow
1.335 oz. coconut oil
1/8 tsp. vitamin E
about 1 tsp. essential oils
I'd like to make a new version without the cocoa butter and I'd like to add in shea butter and maybe an avocado oil or sweet almond oil as.
Is there a general formula that I should be following when I want to make adjustments?
I know that the shea butter is softer than the cocoa butter and the avocado and sweet almond would also make it softer. How much more beeswax would I need? Could I increase the tallow a bit instead of adding a lot more beeswax?
Thanks!
