While making soap when you heat up oil, stearic acid and add lye with other ingredients it gets into thick paste approximately in 5-6 minutes. Is it ready or need to be heated up more? if yes then for how many minutes? or any other method to know that the soap is in ready to use condition. Please guide!

Why would you want to use stearic acid in soap intended for washing clothes? What kind of soap are you making and what method are you using?

I use CP to make ours. Less heat involved so for me a bit safer.
I wear PPE's because I know sodium hydroxide does not care what it turns to soap.

Coconut oil / Lard and a negative SF of 3%. I also use sodium citrate ( hard water) at 2% by weight of oils.

We use some borax to stretch the soap. Usually 1/2 cup borax to 1 cup of soap. Seems to help a little. Your mileage may vary.
