Chances are that any benefits aren’t likely to survive the lye. Better used in a leave on product in my experience. Might work for label appeal but wouldn’t make any claims regarding the benefits of jewelweed
I would infuse jewelweed in apple cider vinegar and sell it as a spray. When I lived in downstate Pa. I would occasionally run into poison ivy while I was using the weed whacker and nothing calmed the itch better than vinegar. You could also probably use witch hazel in place of the vinegar but I have never tried witch hazel. Both should last a year or more.
Thanks for the input,may use it in spray form,just need to figure out a recipe,the apple cider vinegar sounds good,would like to add ingredients that would also give it a pleasant smell.Any tips are greatly appreciated.Regards
