Hi,
I've made my first soap yesterday. The color of most bars look uneven, I read about lye pockets and I got worried. I tried the zap test, but it tastes like any other soap. :) Can anyone tell me if it looks ok? (sorry for my english)
Thanks

Hello and welcome Linda! :)

It looks to me as though your soap went through partial gel, which normally causes a transluscent appearance in the center and an opaque appearance towards the outer edges. Other than the uneven aesthetic issue caused by partial gel, things look and sound to be perfectly fine and I wouldn't worry about it, especially since it doesn't zap.

IrishLass :)

Hello IrishLass,
Thank you for your answer. I am very new to soapmaking, and I have a lot to learn. :)

Those are air bubbles. Where air got trapped in the soap. If you get a lye pocket you will know it!
