So I made my first soap! It's a hot process castile with olive oil. I let it cook for over 2 hours and it wasn't zappy. My question is how do long do I need to wait before I can use it? I ask because I understand olive oil saponifies slower than other oils. Is there a chance that it's not fully saponified even though it did not zap?
The ingredients are olive oil, water and sodium hydroxide and I used soapcalc to make my recipe and I weighed everything very carefully using the full water amount and a 8% superfat.
