Herbs: Fresh vs. Dried

What's the difference in the finished soap between using ground fresh herbs and ground dried herbs?

I learned in the soap making class that apparently fresh herbs, because they are so full of water, can become gunky and moldy in the soap.

I figured dried was best.... thanks
