Hi,

I have a lot of dried spearmint, I am thinking to brew some spearmint tea and replace water. Do I replace 100% water? and how much dried spearmint do I need for 2 lb batch?

thanks

Just like how you brew tea to drink. You can use a tea bag size and brew it. And use the water regularly in the soapmaking process

Don't be too disappointed if the scent of the tea doesn't come through. The lye monster may be a little tough on the tea. Using spearmint and peppermint EO's wold reinforce the scent nicely.

If you add the leaves - they will probably turn dark brown eventually - but you could start with a tsp up to a TBLSP per pound of oils depending on the effect you want.

Let us know how it turns out! Don't you love experimenting?

I just found out my Peppermint EO is low, I am thinking to mix Peppermint EO with Lemon EO. Also, I plan to put some spearmint leave on the top of the soap.

What do you think?
