I found the following product at my local "health food store". It works great for soap and is fairly inexpensive compared to the other Palm oils I have purchased. I paid $7.50 for 24 oz container, and acutally you get more than 24 oz after you melt it down and add by weight NOT volume.

her it is... let me know what you think of this if you can find it.

Spectum is the company that makes it and it is in a plastic tub like crisco. It's called Organic All Vegetable Shortening. (non-hydrogentated)

The ingredient lists: Mechanically pressed organic palm oil.

I think it works great.

I get 50 lb blocks for 58.00, have you checked out Columbus Foods?

Yes, even if you got just a gallon from Columbus foods including shipping it would be a lot cheaper than the Spectrum shortening.
 
I agree! Spectrum is GREAT in a pinch. And if your in a pinch try to buy it from Whole Foods. They sell it at least a dollar cheaper than local stores.
