Finding or making the perfect flexible hold gel.....

I've tried everything coming and going and can't seem to find a truly FLEXIBLE hold hair gel. I have straight fine hair and I like to use a curling wand to get some nice waves. Nothing I've used has held up. Hair looks good for about 15 minutes or it's just too crunchy looking


Soooooo... I have quite a hoard of hair gels of various strengths. I'm wondering if it's possible to mix the gels with something (like an oil or some other secret ingredient) that would help make it more flexible.


I had my fill of hard crunchy hair in the 80's.
